Police arrest 3 suspects of Ekiti state APC Chairman kidnappers

The Ekiti Police Command, disclosed that it has arrested three suspects in connection with the abduction of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chairman in the state, Mr. Paul Omotosho.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Sunday Abutu, in a statement, revealed that the suspects have given useful information that could lead to the arrests of the prime suspects, who are currently at large.

Giving an update on the arrest, the Police said Mr Paul Omotosho alongside two others that were recently abducted by unknown hoodlums have regained their freedom and have been reunited with their families.

The release was possible through the combined efforts of the Police, other sister agencies, the local security outfits and the family members as well as the Ekiti State government.

Citizens are implored to be security conscious, vigilant and ensure the prompt reportage of any suspicious person or group of persons observed in their locality to the nearest Police Station.

According to the statement, Omotosho regained freedom from his captors early hours of yesterday, after spending five days in captivity, although the mode of his release is yet to be disclosed.

The APC chairman who was kidnapped by unknown gunmen while returning home in Imesi-Ekiti, Gboyin local government area of Ekiti state, last Saturday evening from an undisclosed location.

As at the time of filing thus report it was not clear how much was paid to his abductors to effect his release as everyone inthe family kept sealed lips.
