Rivers Elder stateman Clark Writes Ganduje, Damagum: wade in Fubara/Wike feud

Elder statesman Chief Edwin Clark has advised the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje and his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) counterpart Ambassador Umar Damagum to wade in the rift between Rivers Governor Siminialaye Fubara and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike.

 

This is stated in a letter addressed to the two political leaders, the Ijaw leader warned of the consequences of allowing the gulf between the governor and his successor to further widen.

 

The one-time Federal Commissioner of Information warned the leaders of the two major political parties against allowing Rivers State to boil.

 

According to him, both leaders cannot feign ignorance of the developments in Rivers, warningGanduje and Damagum needed to cautionn the FCT minister.

 

“The (Ganduje and Bamagum) should avoid the dangerous crisis facing Rivers State, one of the most important states producing the resources used to sustain the economy of this country.

 

“I hope you do not forget that the International Oil Companies (IOCs) and the deep seaport of Onne are very well established in Rivers State.”

 

He described as provocative the impression being created by the FCT minister that “he, alone and not the people of Rivers State made Fubara governor.”
