Sowore Joins in ‘Egbetokun Must Go’ Protest After Bail

Following the arrest and bail grant of Former presidential candidate and activist, Omoyele Sowore, was seen participating in the “Egbetokun Must Go” protest outside the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday.

Recall that Sowore had been granted bail by Justice Musa Suleiman Liman, who set the terms at N10 million with a matching surety and required Sowore to deposit his international passport with the court.

Meanwhile, on Facebook, Sowore criticised the bail conditions, saying, “They granted the ‘bail,’ but I am not going to be bailed out by a corrupt civil servant at level 17 or 16; they got the memo and took the condition off their table. Even then, they still targeted my international passport, but that too they will never have!”

Photographs and videos from the scene captured Sowore briefly joining the protesters, singing and holding a “Egbetokun Must Go” sign, before leaving the location.

He was given 24 hours to comply with the bail conditions, or he would be remanded in custody.
