Suspected cultists kill 45-year-old man in Osogbo

Osun Police Command on Friday has confirmed the killing of a 45-year-old man, identified as Tajudeen Rabiu by suspected cultist at Ilesa Garage area, Osogbo.

The deceased was a close ally of the Osogbo branch chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Kazeem Oyewale popularly called “Asiri Eniba’’.

In a statement, Osun Police spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola, said the deceased was shot dead in front of his wife’s shop by unidentified person’s.

“On Friday at about 12:40p.m., the police received a report via control room of an incident that happened at Ilesa Garage Area of Osogbo.

“I mobilised some policemen to the area, on arrival, the corpse of a male person was met on the ground.

“Information according to eyewitness at the scene revealed that the deceased named Tajudeen Rabiu, 45-year-old of Ijetu area, Osogbo was a suspected cultist.

“He was shot dead in front of his wife’s shop at Ilesa Garage area, Osogbo by unidentified persons who were on a Bajaj motorcycle”.

Opalola added that the situation is under watch and investigation is in progress to apprehend the perpetrators.
