Terrorists are planning to hit the US, UK raises alarm

The United Kingdom has issued a terror notice to British nationals residing in the United States.

On Friday, the United Kingdom issued a travel advisory to its residents travelling to the United States containing this information.

In a caution posted on its website, the United Kingdom warned that terrorists may target sites where immigrants congregate, as well as densely populated areas and transportation routes.

Extremely likely terrorists will attempt to conduct attacks in the United States. There is a risk of indiscriminate attacks, notably in locations frequented by foreigners, densely populated areas, and transit networks. You must monitor media stories and maintain vigilance at all times.”

“The greatest danger comes from individuals who may have been inspired by terrorist ideology to carry out so-called ‘lone actor’ attacks on public gatherings or locations.” The UK travel caution warned that attacks might occur with little or no warning.

The UK government stated, in relation to the alert, that the US could deploy security agents in public locations to thwart potential assaults, and that the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has given information on serious threats.

“The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) supplies the public with information regarding credible threats. At public venues and events, you should anticipate greater law enforcement presence and stringent security.

“This may involve a significant police presence, increased limits and bag inspections, and the application of screening technologies. Visit the DHS website for current warnings in the United States and its territories.

“Groups or people inspired by the crisis in Iraq and Syria pose a heightened risk of terrorist action against British interests and persons around the world. This is a time for vigilance,” it stated.

Recall that the United States and the United Kingdom had issued security alerts warning of terrorist activity in Abuja.

However, the federal government, through the Minister of Information Lai Mohammed, rejected the advisories and clearly stated that the United States was not secure either.
