Tiger Woods plays in first tournament after seven months out
American professional golfer, Tiger Woods, has returned to the golf course after seven months out due to an injury.
He returned to the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles and birdied the last three holes to record an incredible two-under-par first round at the Genesis Invitational early Thursday morning.
Woods’ participation in California this week marks his first official tournament start since The Open Championship in July 2022 and only his first non-major PGA Tour event since the ZOZO Championship in October 2020.
According to the UK Daily Mail, the prize purse will be $20 million with $3.6 million going to the winner.
