Tinubu Grieves Loss of Two Icons
President Bola Tinubu has consoled families of two Nigerian icons who passed away recently.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu expressed his condolences to the family of Chief Hezekiah Oladipo Davies over the passing of their matriarch, Mrs. Augusta Olujoke Davies at 90.
The President described her as an illustrious daughter of the nation who lived a full life dedicated to her family and community.
“President Bola Tinubu condoles with the family of the late Chief Hezekiah Oladipo Davies Q.C. over the passing of their matriarch, Mrs. Augusta Olujoke Davies.
“Mrs. Davies, who passed away at the venerable age of 90, was the wife of Chief H.O. Davies, one of Nigeria’s founding fathers; a lawyer, journalist, and former Minister of Industries.
The President describes the departed matriarch, who is the mother of Mrs. Olufunmilayo Goka, former Deputy Managing Director of Agip Oil, as an illustrious daughter of the nation who lived a full life dedicated to the Almighty and to the service of her family and community.
“President Tinubu commiserates with the entire Davies family, as well as the Oluwole family and the Ogunmade ruling house of Lagos.
“President prays for the repose of the soul of the deceased, while consoling her family to take solace in her enduring legacies”, the statement said.
In another statement, President Tinubu mourned the passing of elder statesman and renowned leader, Alhaji Ahmadu Abdulkadir, also known as Amadu Na-Funtua.
The President praised Na-Funtua’s contributions to community building and development, praying for Allah’s mercy on his soul and comfort for his family.
“President Bola Tinubu extends his condolences to the Government and people of Katsina State over the passing of elder statesman and long-reigning Sa’in Katsina, Alhaji Ahmadu Abdulkadir.
“The deceased, better known as Amadu Na-Funtua, was a renowned leader, politician, and businessman.
“President Tinubu states that the contributions of the late Na-Funtua to community building and development will long be remembered.
“The president prays for Allah’s mercy on the soul of the deceased and comfort for his family,”
