Tinubu swears in two more NPC commissioners
President Bola Tinubu yesterday swore in two additional Federal Commissioners of the National Population Commission (NPC) at the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja.
At the swearing-in ceremony, which held before the commencement of the fifth Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting of the year, Fasuwa Johnson Johnson (Ogun) and Amidu Tadese Raheem (Osun) took their oaths of office as NPC commissioners.
Seventeen of their colleagues had taken their oath of office in March.
Also, the FEC observed a minute of silence in honour of two former ministers – one-time Minister of Education, Professor Fabian Osuji, and former Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu – before going into closed doors.
Osuji, who died in February at the age of 82, was Minister of Education during the tenure of ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo.
The FEC was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima; the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume; the Chief of Staff to the President, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila; the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoCSF), Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan; and most other members of the council.
