A street US party claims life of two people and left 28 wounded as mass shooting suddenly interfere the US city party at Baltimore.
The police said more than one assailant opened fire at the celebration in Baltimore and the motive for the shooting was not immediately known, and police appealed for anyone with information about who was responsible to come forward.
According to the statement of the police, at the scene of the incident, the dead body of an 18-year-old woman was found and a 20-year-old man died after being taken to the hospital.
The statement records that the victims range in age from 13 to 32. Meanwhile acting police commissioner Richard Worley, said all but nine of the 28 wounded had been released from hospitals and some remained in critical condition.
Reacting to the incident, Mayor Brandon Scott pleas with the people of Baltimore to treat the incident as if it happened to either their father, mother, sister, brother or relatives.
Speaking further, he sought for alliance from all persons in Baltimore to put an end arms around this Brooklyn community and at each other, referring to the neighborhood where the shooting took place.
Baltimore, a port city about an hour’s drive north of Washington which has one of the highest homicide rates in America. Scott said the incident highlights the impacts and the need to deal with the over-proliferation of illegal guns on our streets and the ability for those who should not have them to get their hands on them.
