‘Welcome Home’ – Abba Kyari’s family gives a warm welcome after 2years in detention

The suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, received a warm welcome from family and friends after his release on Friday from the Kuje Custodial Centre, where he has spent 27 months in detention.

Pictures circulating on social media on Saturday shows the embattled former super cop in the company of his family members, with decorations.

Recall that Kyari was detained following his arrest on February 14, 2022, by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for alleged involvement with an international drug cartel.

On May 22, 2024, Judge Emeka Nwite, granted Kyari bail to allow him to conclude the burial rites of his mother, Yachilla Kyari, who died on May 5.
