Wizkid, Tems, others won American Music Awards
Wizkid and Tems, two Nigerian musicians, have won yet another accolade at the American Music Awards.
The event was place on November 21 at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, with comedian and well-known media figure Wayne Brady serving as host.
Wizkid, Fireboy DML, Burna Boy, Ckay, and Tems competed for the “Favorite Afrobeats Artist” award in a presentation that included the category for the first time. However, the Ojuelegba singer took the award home with him.
Tems was also recognised as the winner of the “Favorite Hip Hop Song” category for her contribution to Future’s “Wait For You” with Drake.
The popular combo Wizkid and Tems won the award for “Favorite R&B Song” with “Essence” from Wizkid’s Made in Lagos 2020 album.
