Osun NSCDC parades suspect for duping neighbor’s brother and colleague
A 40-year-old man, Bola Awolumate was on Tuesday paraded by Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Osun state command for advance fee fraud, employment scam, impersonation and obtaining money by false pretence.
Awolumate, who is from Ekiti was accused of duping his victims the sum of #570,000 under the disguise of securing visa to Norway and Saudi Arabia and also promised to secure employment for one of the complaints.
While speaking to newsmen, he confessed to commiting the crime and said he felt displeased, embarrassed and ashamed of himself now.
“It was my neighbor who we reside together at Oke Abesu area, Osogbo that introduced his brother and colleague to me, so as to help them secure visa and employment
“I collected the sum of #570,000 from them and used it for my personal use because I don’t have a job”.
While parading the suspect, the Osun state commandant, Sunday Agboola said, the case was reported by the victims who the suspect duped, his men swung into action and they ensured that he was caught and brought to our office for further investigation during which he confessed to commiting the crime.
“I will like to tell the public that during my era, I will not tolerate anyone who tries to cause problem or instigate people against the Federal government.
“I will not relent on my effort to comb everywhere so as to ensure that criminals and criminality reduce in Osun.
“The next step is to charge the case to court where his fate will be determined”.
