2023 Election: Oyetola, Ajimobi unveils women campaign group for Tinubu in Osun

The wife of Osun State Governor, Kafayat Oyetola on Friday unveiled an all-women campaign group called ‘Akoni Obinrin Osun’, i.e Akosun that would canvass for votes for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, in the 2023 general election.

She added that the movement is a body put together by women in the state to consistently anchor the participation of women in politics.

Mrs Oyetola, who was joined at the unveiling ceremony of the group in Osogbo, by the wife of the immediate past governor of Oyo State, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, in her remarks said, ‘Akoni Obinrin’ was put together to enhance women’s participation in Osun politics.

“Akoni Obinrin comprises of women of courage, women with passion, and women of accomplishments, who have resolved to use their time, substance and intellect to actively give progressive direction to politics in our state.

“Our current focus is to mobilize in an unprecedented manner for the victory of the APC Presidential candidate, @officialasiwajubat and the other candidates of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the 2023 elections.”
Speaking on the theme, ‘Braving the odds to make a difference,’ Mrs Ajimobi observed myriads of challenges confronting women and commended them for confronting all odds to survive in a harsh environment.

In his goodwill message, Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, said ‘Akoni Obinrin Osun’ group represents the resoluteness and character of Osun that deliver excellence on critical fronts, including security, peace, economy and health.

He then urged women in the state to encourage members of their families to register, collect their voter’s cards and vote for APC candidates in the next general elections.
