Acting AIG Akande vows to clampdown on all miscreants in Osun, Oyo
The Acting AIG in charge of Zone XI Command Osogbo, Sikiru Akande, has urged all parents and guardians to warn their children and wards against involvement in any forms of violent protest.
Akande in a press release issued by the PPRO, SP Benjamin Ayeni on Friday in Osogbo, said violence has never helped any nation and it is never a solution to the problem confronting our nation.
The AIG said “In view of the current situation in the country, people should remain calm and go about their legitimate businesses as the zone will not allow further break down of law and order within its jurisdiction.
“He said the various ICT Departments within the force are working and analysing all the video records that we have, therefore we would soon start clampdown on all criminals and miscreants who took advantage of the situation to break into government and private properties.
He further charged the Commissioners of Police for Oyo and Osun States to activate their Criminal Intelligence Bureaus and start arresting all thugs and miscreants involved in past violent protest.
Akande added that the zone has also activated its Political Desk headed by ACP Babatunde Adeniran to handle all political and election matters.
